Sahil Gupta, a former intern at SpaceX, has again stated that Elon Musk is the creator of Bitcoin. Expressing his views in his article on Medium, a trending blogging website, Gupta emphasized that he is fully convinced that the billionaire is behind the creation of Bitcoin. The reason behind his conviction is the conversation on the phone call that he had with the former Chief of staff of Elon Musk, Sam Teller. This conversation took place in the year 2017.
Gupta believes that Elon Musk could be behind the creation of Bitcoin as he is aware of all economic aspects behind tokens and digital currencies. Musk also has very extensive experience in cryptography which is a key factor in the creation of Bitcoin. Moreover, Musk is very proficient in programming languages such as C++, which has been used extensively for creating Bitcoin.
Satoshi Nakamoto, the anonymous name behind the creation of Bitcoin, made a comeback to the internet in the year 2014 just to debunk the theory that Dorian S. Nakamoto had created the cryptocurrency. Musk also tweeted one week after that clarification, although the perception of the public continues to remain strong that Musk is Satoshi.
According to a survey conducted in May, around half of the Australians believe that Satoshi is Musk. The only argument in opposition to the theory is the fact that Musk has always been a strident proponent of sustainable energy and practices. So, it is unlikely he’s going to create something which will consume a lot of electricity and has a very large carbon footprint.
It is important to note that in the month of March earlier this year, Tesla started accepting Bitcoin as one of the payment methods for its cars. However, it later suspended its decision owing to the large turbulence and alterations in the prices of Bitcoin. Musk has repeatedly shown his preference for Dogecoin over Bitcoin for payments.
